NOT IN OUR NAME.
Out of 90+ counties in Indiana, Clark County is one of five that decided jailing immigrants for profit would happen in our community. One of five out of more than 90. Someone in power checked the “yes” box but we did not agree to this.
Join us for a community gathering kicking off the campaign NOT IN OUR NAME: End ICE Detention in Clark County NOW.
We’re in the shelter near the lake. Doors open at 5:30, so come early to enjoy the music. Then, get ready to Do Something!
We’ll have music, speakers & community. Do Something Southern Indiana will provide light sandwiches, and you can bring something good to share at an outdoor event. Let’s lift our collective voices and let them know what actually IS in our name: the end of ICE detention at Clark County Jail.
You’ll leave this kickoff with a full awareness of how Clark County got here, true accounts of what this is doing to our neighbors, and an action plan of what you can do. Bring your family & bring your friends.
Let Us Know We’ll See You Here.
The decision to put money over morality, was a choice. A choice made in the name of Clark County residents, but without our input.
NOT IN OUR NAME.
(A suggested $5 donation would be most appreciated and support shelter rental costs. This is a rain or shine outdoor event in the ground’s shelter.)
